Phil’s Role: Lighting Designer Venue: College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University Director: Kaarin S. Johnston About the show: This production of Macbeth was placed in the Appalachian mountains where the Scots settled at this country’s beginning. The hills and mountains create a scene of mystery and wonder which was captured by both the lighting design and the set design. A variety of gobos were used to create forest feels and changes in season, and saturated colors were chosen to build on the emotion of the play. Special effects included strobes for lightning, and gobo spinners on the ghost of Banquo to create an ethereal feel. Production Photos: |
